Filtering Through the Traffic?
"The Best Training for Skills and Safety...."
A question we're often asked is whether or not filtering is legal, is it okay etc.? The answer is a very definite yes, perfectly acceptable, perfectly legal, but why are we asked so often I wonder?
There are a number of reasons perhaps that cause this confusion, not least the gossip columns, grapevines and other sources of rumour mongering that go on in the biking world.
Another reason is that during any of your courses whilst learning to ride, it may not have been possible for your trainer to show you how and when to filter. Sometimes the opportunities arise sometimes they don't. For example, a situation may have arisen when it may have been possible for one bike to filter, but not two bikes or even three.
It's easier to demonstrate filtering when the trainers don't carry the same level of responsibility for his or her students as they do on CBT or Direct Access courses. Therefore you may find that you learn about filtering through traffic at a later date when you are more independent with your skills and knowledge.
If you didn't get the chance to practice filtering on your course it is possible to book separate lessons with us. Let's put things straight for now about filtering and if anyone does challenge you with your new found knowledge, point them right here.
